Coaches Hub

Our coaches play an essential role within EMJFL, giving their time, energy and commitment to help young players develop, enjoy their football and create positive matchday experiences.

We have created the checklists below to help Managers and Coaches prepare for fixtures and understand their key matchday responsibilities.

Please remember that these checklists provide a helpful overview. All Managers and Coaches must also be familiar with the official EMJFL By-Laws and the rules that apply to their age group.

MINI-SOCCER MATCHDAY CHECKLIST

Before the Match

  • All Managers and Coaches must be registered with their Club and appear on the appropriate WGS team sheet with photographic identification.

  • All players must be correctly registered to the team and shown on an up-to-date WGS squad sheet.

  • Managers should have the squad sheet available before and throughout the match.

  • Teams should arrive at least 15 minutes before kick-off.

  • Managers and Coaches should wear identifiable Club colours or clothing.

  • Every team must bring a suitable, fully inflated match ball.

  • A suitable first-aid kit must be available at every match.

Squad-Sheet Checks

  • For U8s to U12s, Managers must produce and exchange their WGS squad sheets before kick-off.

  • Both Managers must confirm that the checks have been completed and that they are satisfied before the match begins.

  • Any player who does not appear on the squad sheet is not eligible to play.

Fixture Cancellations

  • U7s to U11s teams that cannot fulfil a fixture must email the relevant Age Group Fixtures Secretary.

  • At least seven days’ notice must be provided to avoid an administration charge.

  • The opposition should also be informed as soon as possible.
