Message from Manchester FA Safeguarding Team
Hello everyone, I wanted to steal a section of this month’s Newsletter to praise the Welfare Team at the EMJFL for the outstanding work being done to maintain high standards of coach compliance in line with FA Safeguarding requirements. The level of organisation, oversight, and commitment that is being demonstrated is evident, and it’s clear that Safeguarding is being treated as a key priority and not a tick box exercise. The proactive approach to monitoring DBS’s, Safeguarding training, and keeping records up to date is exactly the standard we need to see across the county. It not only strengthens the Safeguarding culture within your Clubs but also provides reassurance to Parents, Players, and Volunteers that the league is operating with professionalism and care. The EMJFL are an excellent example of how strong leadership and consistent processes can make a real difference! I would also ask that everyone continues to support the league in this work. They are playing a crucial role in creating safe, positive environments and ensuring that the right, appropriately qualified people are involved in our game. The League Officials are our “boots on the ground” in this space and they see what’s happening day to day. They pick up issues early, and they help maintain the standards that keep our young people safe. When they request information, updates, or action please support them by complying with respect and understanding. By working with the League, we ensure that football remains a safe, enjoyable space for every young person who steps onto the pitch! Scott Dean, Manchester FA DSO.
